Provence en Famille was just what I was looking for. At this Provencal homestay, I was immersed in the language all day long. It was so natural to speak French. I wanted to concentrate on my conversational skills so that is what Elisabeth emphasized. Elisabeth has a gift for teaching. She was able to quickly explain a point of grammar or an idiom to me so that I immediately understood it and could apply it during my conversations. She also knew how to gently correct my errors so that I learned from my mistakes but was not humiliated in the process. I am happy with the progress I made with Elisabeth's  one-on-one instruction. She truly enjoys teaching French and showing her Provence to others. The excursions that she suggested were always interesting. Elisabeth is also a very good cook. I ate well every day and now have some good recipes to try chez moi! Both she and her husband, Roland, were very welcoming and made me feel comfortable all four weeks of my homestay.  I will definitely be coming back to Carry-le-Rouet for another wonderful experience.

My homestay with Elisabeth and Roland was "formidable"! As the instruction was one-on-one, I was able to concentrate on my weaknesses, not someone else's. I needed to work on complicated verb tenses and improve my conversation skills. This is exactly what we did and in just two weeks I made significant progess in both areas. Elisabeth is a wonderful, empathetic instructor and I might add, a terrific cook. She truly cared that everything met my expectations. Her house is lovely and of course, you can't beat Provence at any time of the year.

I signed up for a 3-week stay with Elisabeth and from the moment I was picked up at the airport, she provided me with a continuous learning experience. She portrayed many roles throughout the 3 weeks: teacher, guide and friend. She never tired of her role as a teacher. When I asked the name of a flower, I would have a complete French lesson on flowers and all that pertained to them. She never tired of explaining the grammar, context, or history of a particular reading or question. Elisabeth placed my educational stimulation first before her own activities or interests. She made sure that I was comfortable with my surroundings and the language before setting me off on my own. She gave me the freedom I needed to be myself and go my way when I wanted. Of course, I could never leave the house until we had finished our 3-hour morning structured French lesson. Each evening she would ask me to join her and her family to watch a television program that she felt would interest me. Throughout the day we would listen to the French talk radio and then discuss the events at supper. I was conseidered part of the family. Elisabeth introduced me to her friends and neighbors. In whatever she was involved, Elisabeth gave me the opportunity to participate also.  I received a well-rounded education by remaining with her and her family throughout my stay. Elisabeth exemplifies integrity, honesty, and responsiblility. Her professionalism is impeccable.

I have had many French professors over the past 10 years that I have been studying the French language, both in France and in the United States. Without a doubt, Elisabeth Dol has been the best teacher I have had. She really loves her profession and her students. She is sensitive to her students' needs. Her program for each student is based on the needs of the individual. Her knowledge of French history and culture is outstanding. Her preparation for her students' lessons is thorough. She has so much enthusiasm for both her teaching and life. I have enjoyed every minute in her gracious and welcoming home. My French has improved a hundredfold since I have been her student. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to know her, her family, and to have benefited from my experience as her student.

My stay with the Dol family was perfect. They could not have been kinder or more helpful to me. They did everything that could be done to make my stay pleasant. Elisabeth is an excellent teacher. She has a thorough grasp of both French and English. As a consequence, she made it very easy for me to improve my language skills very quickly. Perhaps even more important than her academic qualifications was her ability to provide patient encouragement. Learning a foreign language can be frustrating, but she made it fun. The Dol family lives in an attractive home. My room and adjoining bathroom were very nice. The family is accustomed to receiving foreigners to study in their home. They made it easy for me to feel comfortable in their home. My two weeks were perfect. I could not have hoped for a better experience.
