Come & Share a French Experience  

Provence en Famille is a French homestay program which provides for total immersion in the French language within my apartment in Aix-en-Provence, in the heart of our beautiful Provence. I offer three different homestay programs:

»French Cooking Homestay Program

French Language Homestay Program: I will be your personal French tutor as you study French and live "à la française" within our family, in a comfortable apartment with a nurturing environment. I will inspire, encourage and guide you to communicate with confidence and ensure that your learning experience is enjoyable, satisfying and rewarding. In nice weather, our tutoring sessions could take place on the terrace of a nearby cafe.

French Culture Homestay Progarm: I will be your personal guide, giving you an insider's view of Provence. These tours can be conducted in French or English. After a day of cultural experiences, you will return to your homestay base where you can relax and enjoy a delicious Provençal meal en famille.

French Cooking Homestay Program: One of my favorite pastimes is cooking. In this program you will learn how to prepare some of my favorite Provençal recipes. We will go to the open-air markets to buy our ingredients then we will prepare the meals together. Of course we will enjoy the fruits of our labor as we eat together en famille. This program can be conducted in French or English.

A la Carte: If you wish, it is possible to organize a mixed program "à la carte" with some elements of each of the three above programs in a combination of your choosing.

2013  Marseille - Cultural Capital of Europe 

Marseille has been selected to be the European Capital of Culture for the year 2013. The cultural festivities in our region promise to include many interesting events. In Marseille there are the openings of new museums (Beaux-Arts, History, Mediterranean Civilization), several painting exhibits, plus a variety of festivals. In Aix-En-Provence there are 150 modern works of Cézanne, Braque, Matisse and others which are being newly displayed at the Granet Museum. In Arles new archeological discoveries will be presented (a bust of Caesar, a roman boat, ancient sculptures...). Picasso in Aubagne and Duffy in Martigues will provide us with moving and passionate experiences.

2013 will be boiling over with activities and new discoveries. We will be happy to accompany you on your exploration of the region. We will help you discover the works of art, the museums, the traditions and the countryside which inspired the artists who are going to "visit" us this year.

This year will be the perfect year to explore our language and our region.

There are still several weeks this summer and this fall that are available for us to welcome you to Provence. Don't wait! Come experience these gentle seasons in our region.
